FiberFirst Installation Process

Fiber Installation Process

Scheduling and Access

Do You Need to Be Home?

It is not required for you to be home during outdoor cabling, but we may need property access.
Required for in-home installation to ensure proper setup and equipment placement.
We offer flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon, and evening appointments.
Our team coordinates with you to choose the most convenient time for your in-home installation.

External Setup

Once fiber infrastructure is live in your neighborhood, our team begins the external installation
by assessing your property. Technicians route fiber from our main lines to your home using existing
utility easements whenever possible, minimizing any disruption.

In-Home Installation

A second appointment connects fiber directly inside your home. Our technicians install the
Network Interface Device (NID) outside, along with routers and other internal equipment
to complete your connection.

Equipment Overview

During your appointment, our team installs:

  • Conduits to protect fiber cables underground or along walls
  • Network Interface Devices (NIDs) for outside connectivity
  • Routers to manage your home network and connect devices wirelessly

Every component is selected for performance, durability, and compatibility with today’s data demands.

Safety & Environmental Responsibility

FiberFirst adheres to strict safety protocols:

  • Utility lines are identified before trenching
  • Technicians are trained to minimize disruption and risk
  • Environmental impact is minimized with careful planning and eco-conscious practices

What Happens Next?

Post-Construction Cleanup: Our team removes all debris, restores any landscaping or disturbed areas,
and ensures your property is left just as we found it.
